So it’s January 3rd.  How are you doing with your goals so far?

I’ve been on track so far and doing pretty amazing.  I’m getting my sugar withdrawals but fighting them and pushing forward.  I know that it will get hard probably tomorrow or next with the bad withdrawal symptoms (headaches)  and then my energy level will just shoot back up and the cravings will nearly be gone.  Can you tell I’ve been through this before? :)

Sugar is very addictive and it’s something we become very dependent on.

I’ve been drinking my Vi-Shake twice a day, healthy snacks and a good balanced meal.  Feeling fantastic!!!!  Right now I’m drinking my Peanut Butter and Banana shake.  Delicious!!!

So even if you haven’t gotten a good start, jump in NOW!  Now is the time to commit to your goals.  If you slip, just acknowledge it and start again.  Look at your habits, why do you do certain things and what triggers them?

When do you get food cravings?  Write that down, what did you eat prior in the day?  Maybe it’s related to how you are fueling your body.  Did you drink enough water that day or get the proper nutrition your body needs?  Sometimes dehydration feels like hunger to us.  Drink a HUGE glass of water when you get a craving.

You’re doing amazing, keep pushing forward!!!!  Remember you didn’t put that weight on overnight and you won’t lose it overnight either.  It’s the little things you do each day that will lead up to that bigger goal.  STAY POSITIVE!!

  1. We were just discussing sugar addiction in my nutrition course for college and found some studies that showed that mice/rats showed the same withdrawal symptoms as they would from drugs if they had sugar removed from their diets.

I am glad you are “detoxing” and I am sure by now (the 5th) you’re feeling much better!
