I like to use Chia seeds in my Vi-Shake.  I like the texture (very small) and added energy I receive from these tiny little seeds.

There are so many benefits to using Chia Seeds.  They are a super-food that everyone should add into their daily routine.  The chia seed is an excellent source of fiber, packed with antioxidants, full of protein, loaded with vitamins and minerals, and the richest known plant source of omega-3.

•More Omega-3 than Atlantic Salmon
•More Antioxidants than fresh blueberries
•More Fiber than bran flakes
•More Calcium than 2% milk
•More Protein, Fiber & Calcium than flax seed

1. Lose weight without feeling like your starving.
The Chia Seed is amazing when you are dieting. The tiny, healthy seeds can be made to taste like whatever you want, and their unique gelling action keeps you feeling full for hours. Hunger is a main enemy of real weight loss. When a chia seed is exposed to water, it forms a coating of gel, increasing its size and weight. Since the gel made of water, it has no calories. It’s also difficult to remove from the seed, meaning that it helps your body think it is full, without adding calories!

2. Balance your blood sugar
The gelling action of the seed, and it’s unique combination of soluble and insoluble fiber combine to slow down your body’s conversion of starches into sugars. If you eat chia with a meal, it will help you turn your food into constant, steady energy rather than a series of ups and downs that wear you out.

3. Help with getting more omega-3
Chia seeds have more omega-3 than any other natural source, they are loaded with antioxidants, calcium, protein, fiber, and many other vitamins & minerals.

4.Chia Seeds Are Easily Digestible
Unlike flax seed, chia seeds do not have to be ground up before you ingest them. The human body can easily digest chia seeds, and with about 7 grams of fiber per serving, they actually help.

  1. How much do you use Sarah ?

  2. Do you add them once your shake is mixed or before you mix it? I am on day 2 of body by vi and want to make it count..I have chia seeds at home so it wouldn’t cost me anything to add them as well. Much thanks for your help and being so candid…that takes guts!
